MODULAR ANALOG CONTROL
Your looks. Our engine.
Halide puts the qualities of film directly in your hands. Built as a chain of objective, user-driven simulation modules, it models real-world physics without dictating a fixed look.
Build your ideal signal path. Fine-tune the variables. Leave out the rest. With Halide you are never locked into anyone's interpretation of film.

Bring your own parts — each stage is a separate plugin. Run the full chain, or drop in only what the image needs.
The chain is open: new stages slot in without changing the model.
THE ENGINE
Modelled after the real thing.
Select an element to see it run.
FROM PRE TO DI
Shape anywhere. Lose nothing.
Maintain a continuous, non-destructive pipeline from pre-production to post. Every module exports its active state with fully exposed parameters. A DIT can add lens characteristics on set while the DOP designs grain structures remotely. All configurations transition into the DI, open to refine as the creative intent matures.
Construct custom lens character, film stocks and looks locally — on set, in the studio, or working remotely.
Export the model's parameters — the mathematical description of your process, with zero baked-in rendering.
Load the parameters directly into the DI. Every property remains live and adjustable in realtime for the colourist.
PERFORMANCE
The full chain executes live on a Mac Studio, letting you grade in realtime. Work with the process, not against a render bar.
COLOUR SCIENCE
Scene- or display-referred.
Run scene-referred from camera-native or ACES sources, or display-referred inside an existing pipeline — the model adapts to where it sits in your node tree.
The suite, or just the parts.
Every plugin, two seats per licence — or build your chain one plugin at a time.
All ten plugins, two seats, yours to keep. Updates are free, forever.
BUY OUTRIGHTPick the engines you need. Any four cost more than all ten.
BUILD YOUR CHAINEvery install is a render node — unlicensed machines still open, play and render any project built on Halide engines. The licence unlocks the controls, never the output.
FAQ
No. They are dynamic physical profiles built from precise stock characterisations. You aren't tweaking a static look — you're adjusting the actual parameters of the film process.
No. The grain engine generates individual grain crystals — halides — per frame. The image is physically constructed of that grain, exactly like real film, giving you freedom to design grain structure from the ground up.
Yes. Unlicensed installs function as fully capable render nodes. Your settings travel as a lightweight mathematical blueprint, so anyone can open, import and render your project without restriction — even without a licence.
Halide ships as OFX plugins for DaVinci Resolve on macOS (Apple silicon and Intel). The modules run scene- or display-referred, handling everything from major camera colourspaces to ACES and DaVinci Wide Gamut.
The suite is licensed as a bundle with two seats — annual subscription or one-time perpetual purchase. Single modules are available on their own. Unlicensed installs act as render nodes, so your projects never need an active subscription once you've settled on a look.
MORE THAN A LOOK
Imperfect perfection.
An authentic film look requires shooting on film. The final image is the byproduct of a deeply interconnected ecosystem, extending far beyond the celluloid.
Halide extracts variables from that moving target. By mathematically modelling the optical process we hold those physical properties exactly where you set them — interweaving the unpredictability of film with absolute digital consistency.
